LALLY KATZ

Lally is a core member of Stuck Pigs Squealing Theatre Company, for which she’s written The Black Swan of Trespass, The Eisteddfod and Lally Katz and the Terrible Mysteries of the Volcano. These works toured extensively, winning several awards. Other works include: Criminology (co-written with Tom Wright, for Arena Theatre Company and Malthouse Theatre), Goodbye New York, Goodbye Heart (premiered in New York), Waikiki Palace and Hip Hip Hooray (premiered in Sydney Theatre Company’s Wharf2loud program). She’s currently writing commissions for Malthouse Theatre, Belvoir Street, and Sydney Theatre Company. Lally was a delegate of World Interplay in 2003.

NICHOLAS VERSO

Nicholas first started directing music videos at 18 (including clips for Wendy Rule, Beki & The Bullets and Monique Brumby) before directing short films (most notably Hugo – winner of the Grand Prize for Fantasy at the Rhode Island International Film Festival), feature film (MAX: A Cautionary Tale - screening at Walt Disney World and winning Best New Director at the New York Independent Film & Video Festival) and television (Snake Tales a new children’s sitcom for channel 9).

As an AV Designer for theatre, Nicholas has designed production of Rageboy (MU Student Union / Malthouse Theatre) 2006/7, Autobiography Of Red (Malthouse Theatre) 2005, The Abduction From The Seraglio (Melbourne Lyric Opera), Ghosts (Branch Theatre Company) 2007, Hunger (Melbourne Festival / Rawcus) 2007, Attempts on Her Life (MU Student Union) 2008 and Rhapsody (NICA) 2008. Nicholas recently returned from 7 months in Europe where he was invited to take part in the Berlinale Talent Campus as part of the Berlin Film Festival and the Binger Directors Coaching Programme in Amsterdam.

LUKE MULLINS

Luke Mullins graduated from the VCA in 2001. Luke is a core member of Stuck Pigs Squealing Theatre, creating/performing in 4xBeckett, Agoraphobe, The Eisteddfod (Green Room Award nomination); Lally Katz and the Terrible Mysteries of the Volcano, Untitled Intentional Exercise #1, and Nine Days Falling (in development). For Malthouse Theatre he created the solo work Autobiography of Red. Luke is currently a member of Sydney Theatre Company’s Actors Company, performing in Tales from the Vienna Woods, The Season at Sarsaparilla, The Serpents Teeth Gallipoli and War of the Roses. For MTC, Luke performed in Cloud Nine (Green Room award nomination), The History Boys and King Oedipus (Explorations).

Luke has worked extensively in independent theatre with companies such as Liminal Theatre and Performance, Uncle Semolina and Friends, Wrecked All Prods and Original Voices. Recent roles include Mercury Fur – Little Death (Green Room award nomination), Grace by James Brennan and Delicacy directed by Wesley Enoch. Luke’s television credits include Blue Heelers, MDA and Satisfaction. Luke received the 2006 George Fairfax Memorial Award for excellence in Theatre Practice.

BRIAN LIPSON

Brian was a key member of several important experimental theatre companies in London during the 1970s and the 1980s. He was also well-known as an actor in mainstream theatre, television and film. Lipson moved to Australia in 1997. He has written, directed and performed in Bergasse 19 – The Apartments of Sigmund Freud (Melbourne International Festival of the Arts) and A Large Attendance in the Antechamber (Sydney Opera House, Malthouse Theatre, Brisbane Powerhouse, Hothouse Theatre). For the latter, he won two Green Room awards for Outstanding Fringe Production and Best Male Actor in a Fringe Production. He performed in The History Boys, Dinner, Fred, Pride and Prejudice, Absurd Person Singular, The Herbal Bed (MTC); Inside 2001, The Goldberg Variations Solo Show, Hotel Sorrento (Playbox Theatre Company) and Lally Katz and the Terrible Mysteries of the Volcano (Stuck Pigs Squealing).

In the UK, Brian’s theatre credits include design for the ICA, The Almost Free Theatre, Lindsay Kemp and Ballet Rambert, direction for The Oxford Drama Festival and performance for the Royal National Theatre and The Old Vic. On television his credits include All Saints, Bastard Boys, Riot or Revolution?, Stingers, MDA, The Secret Life of Us, The Games, Blue Healers, East-Enders ,The Bill, Young Freud, Inspector Morse and Howard’s End.

KATHERINE TONKIN

Katherine graduated from WAAPA in 2002. For MTC she appeared in Cloud Nine and All My Sons (understudy). She was a member of Bell Shakespeare's Leadership Program and toured with Actors at Work. For Uncle Semolina & Friends she devised and performed in their Festival of Small Pieces (winner MIAF award), Gilgamesh and OT: Chronicles of the Old Testament. Other theatre credits include The Eisteddfod for Stuck Pigs Squealing Theatre, Jet of Blood (Ignite Productions, winner Best Ensemble Melbourne Fringe 2006), Smashed (Storeroom, ABC Radio), Off the Canvas (Complete Works Theatre Co/RAV), A Mile In Her Shadow (Storeroom), The Licorice Nurse (VCA Directors Season), and The Visit (Carlton Courthouse). Katherine is involved in the developments of Duets for Lovers and Dreamers by Sandra Long, The Man with the September Face by Kylie Trounson, and The Colour of Glass by Gabrielle MacDonald. Her Film, TV and Radio credits include Blue Heelers (Channel 7), Kick (SBS Independent), Snake Tales (Channel 9), The Spook and Smashed for ABC Radio National, and Macbeth for Mushroom Pictures.

DIANA GREENTREE

Greatest fun in theatre...Janet in Rocky Horror Show. Favourite movie director, Nicholas Verso, (acted in 3 of his films so far). Highest profile role: Guy Pearce's mother in "Neighbours". Most profound theatrical experience - Writer/producer/ perfomer with Actors for Refugees  (2001-2006). Most challenging and rewarding role, Lily in "The Night Season" Red Stitch and Melbourne International Festival. Currently producing playreadings in Bali for Ubud Writers Festival and performing with Indonesian actors plus Kellie Jones, Nicki Wendt and Richard Piper (MTC Actors).

ANGUS CERINI

Angus Cerini is a writer and performer, who creates work around issues of social justice. He has performed with many of Australia's leading theatre companies and in film and television. He is the artistic director of Doubletap (http://www.doubletap.net.au)

CHRIS KOHN

Chris graduated VCA School of Drama (Directing) in 1998. He is a core member of Stuck Pigs Squealing Theatre. He directed and co-wrote Tonight I Must Be Brave, directed The Architect and the Emperor of Assyria, 4xBeckett, Agoraphobe development (Next Wave Kickstart), The Black Swan of Trespass, The Eisteddfod, Lally Katz and the Terrible Mysteries of the Volcano and the creative developments of Untitled Intentional Exercise #1/Nine Days Falling at Ontological-Hysteric Theatre in New York and Arts House Melbourne. He has directed for Red Stitch Actors Theatre, Melbourne Workers Theatre, Rawcus, Arena Theatre Company, Malthouse, Company B Belvoir, ChamberMade Opera and Wharf2Loud at the STC. He was Affiliate Director with the MTC and a board member of Theatreworks. In 2004 he received an Ian Potter Cultural Trust fellowship, the 2004 George Fairfax Memorial award and an award for Excellence in Direction from the New York Fringe Festival. In 2006, he was co-recipient, with Lally Katz, of a State Library of Victoria Creative Fellowship. In 2007, he had a residency at the Couvent des Recollets in Paris. From 2005-2007, Chris was Artistic Associate at Arena Theatre Company and is now the Artistic Director (2008 – present).

RICHARD VABRE

Melbourne Workers Theatre, ChamberMade Opera, Aphids, Platform Youth Theatre, Dancehouse, Union House Theatre and the Next Wave Festival. He has also worked extensively in independent theatre companies. Richard has received the Green Room Award Association’s John Truscott Prize for Excellence in Design (2004); Green Room Award Association award for Outstanding Lighting Design in a Fringe or Independent production 2005 (Smashed, Test Pattern, The Black Swan of Trespass); Fringe Festival Awards Excellence in Lighting Design (1998 & 2000). Richard is a core member of Stuck Pigs Squealing Theatre.

JETHRO WOODWARD

Jethro is a composition graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts School of Music. Jethro is a core member of Stuck Pigs Squealing Theatre. His theatre credits include: for Rawcus - Sideshow, Not Dead Yet, Collisions (MIAF 05), Hunger (MIAF 07); for ADT - Slack Ignition season 2008; for Company B - Pillowman, Antigone: The Burial at Thebes and Black Medea; for Arena Theatre - The Girl Who Cried Wolf & Criminology; for STC’s Wharf2Loud - Waikiki Hip; for Malthouse Theatre Autobiography of Red. Jethro received Green Room Award nominations for his work on Hunger, Criminology, Black Medea, Duets of Desire, The Damask Drum, The Eisteddfod and Sideshow.

TRISTAN HAMILTON
After touring the entire state of Queensland, Australia, in the model/dance extravaganza FASHION WITH FLAIR at the ripe age of 18, Tristan Hamilton began his film career at the Academy of Film & Television, on the Gold Coast, Queensland. After which Tristan passionately dived into the art of filmmaking with his first short, DISCOBALLS (2000). He continued paying the bills by television appearances on SURPRISE SURPRISE (Channel Nine Productions) the AUSTRALIAN TEMPTATION ISLAND (Channel Seven Productions) and modelling on ANSEL condom packets. He joined forces with good friend and collaborator, Nicholas Verso to work on Verso’s first feature film MAX A CAUTIONARY TALE (2003) as Production Manager and Actor. Tristan has also appeared in various low budget films in various roles, magazine editorials, dance party posters and won the 2004 Melbourne Mid Summa Festival Opening Night Talent Quest. DADDY’S BOY saw the return of this unique and fun-filled filmmaker in 2006. The queer short film had great success in the local and international Gay & Lesbian Film Festival circuit and was picked up for distribution by Frameline in North America.

HERMIONE MERRY

Hermione graduated Film School at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2002. She has worked in Art Department and other crew roles for the past seven years. Her 2009 short film ‘Runaway,’ has recently been selected for Route 66 Film Festival Illinois. Hermione’s short mobile film ‘Sunday or the Circus’ (2004) received high acclaim at the Pocket Film Festival in France, receiving third prize in the international competition at the Pompedieu. It has gone on to screen at festivals around the world. Hermione is currently developing a feature script about a mother, her prostitute son and the Tasmanian wilderness.

MEL PAGE

Since graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2006 Mel has designed The Spicks and Speck-tacular, the live Australian tour of the ABC television show Spicks and Specks. She has designed the costumes for Spring Awakening (The Hayloft Project/Belvoir St – B Sharp), receiving a nomination for Best Design (Independent theatre) at the 2008 Greenroom awards. Mel received a Film Victoria Attachment to work on the feature film, The Tenderhook. Mel was the production designer on Barnaby Flowers A Time to Talk/Bumper Bonanza (Television Series – C31) and the short films Great Acts of Kindness and Hollow Bones. While at VCA, Mel designed the set for Noye's Fludde (Victorian Opera) and the costumes for Far Away (VCA Drama) and Trailing Clear Spaces (VCA Dance). Mel also completed a design secondment on Lally Katz and the Terrible Mysteries of the Volcano (Stuck Pigs Squealing).

LUCY EVANS

Lucy is the Finance Manager at the Victorian Opera (2006 – present). Lucy produced Rawcus’ collaboration with the MSO for the 2007 Melbourne International Arts Festival, Hunger. She also produced COME HOME in Townsville, QLD, in 2007. She was Treasurer of Melbourne Workers Theatre (July 2006 - December 2007). Lucy was General Manager/CEO of the Women’s Circus (April 2005 – April 2006) and the Project Accountant at the Royal College of Music, London (2003-2004). From 1999-2001, Lucy was the Company Manager at PACT Theatre, Sydney. Lucy holds a BA (Arts Admin and Theatre) from QUT and a Masters of Commerce from Deakin University and is an associate CPA.
